73’s Wrap: Kemptville down to two games left in the regular season

The Kemptville 73’s are down to the wire in their quest to make the playoffs.

After dropping a 5-nothing decision at home to Carleton Place last Friday, and with the Brockville Braves on a six game winning streak, the 73’s are on the outside looking in at a playoff spot.

Kemptville is currently tied with Brockville with 54 points but the Braves have one more win, 25 to 24, dropping the 73’s into fifth place.

Only the top four teams in each of the Central Canada Hockey League’s divisions make the postseason and a number of scenarios will need to play out for Kemptville to be in.

To that end, winning their last two regular seasons games, in Nepean on Wednesday night and in Cornwall on Saturday afternoon, is vital.
