Local farmers and producers have another way of promoting sustainable agriculture, fresh and local food products, and community-based food systems.
They are being invited to be a part of the Lanark Local Flavours directory which is currently being updated by FoodCore Leeds-Grenville-Lanark, and connects local producers and consumers.
FoodCore LGL says the previous database is in need of updating, and plans include expanding it to include Leeds-Grenville producers, to cover their full area of activity.
With the trade war with the U.S., officials say their is increased interest in buying Canadian and in buying local.
