Police asking drivers to stay off the roads during storm

You’re being asked to postpone any non essential travel until after the latest winter storm to impact our area makes its way through.

Grenville County OPP say it’s best to put off any trips until Friday with as much as 30 centimetres of snow expected to fall on eastern Ontario beginning Wednesday evening.

Environment Canada says peak snowfall rates possibly exceeding 5 centimetres per hour could occur bringing with it poor visibility.

Grenville County OPP Constable Dave Holmes tells Moose FM that are a number of things to think about if you do have to venture out.

“What it might be like for other drivers around them or the road conditions themselves can be very different whether you live right off a lake or off a river.”

It’s expected the storm will come to an end on Thursday afternoon.
