The Beth Donovan Hospice is looking at new ways it can provide support for guys.
Darlene Collin, Beth Donovan Hospice Outreach Coordinator, tells Moose FM that they realized that, often times, they don’t have gentlemen taking advantage of the different support groups or counselling services that are offered.
She says that led to the creation of “Grief and Grub for Guys”, a free drop-in support group for men which will hold four gatherings at the Marlborough Pub in North Gower in March.
Collin says they wanted to change up the way they are offering supports for men who are grieving.
“Any time that we can find ways to reach out to individuals and meet them where they are at, it’s a benefit, I think it’s something that it is lacking in many different spots in our community.”
Registration is required for the gatherings and you can sign up and learn more on the hospice’s website.
The first meeting is scheduled for March 3.
