Another blast of winter is descending on eastern Ontario with Environment Canada issuing a Winter Storm Warning.
The weather agency says a highly impactful winter storm is expected to begin Wednesday evening and continue into Thursday with as much as 30 centimetres expected to come down.
Meteorologists say peak snowfall rates possibly exceeding 5 centimetres per hour could occur bringing with it poor visibility.
That means that your drive to work on Thursday morning, and your drive home Thursday afternoon, will be impacted and officials are asking you to avoid non-essential travel.
Environment Canada Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Geoff Coulson tells Moose FM that you have to go back to January, 2022, to find the last storm that had so much snow associated with it.
“This particular event spread out over two days, the other event that occurred in mid-January 2022 happened on just one day.”
The snow will gradually taper off Thursday afternoon.
