Kemptville could eventually have more affordable places for seniors and veterans to call home.
North Grenville Council is continuing its efforts to repurpose Bell Hall, a former 200 bed student dorm located on Kemptville Campus, into 60 affordable apartments.
It follows council putting $400,000 towards a feasibility study into the idea.
North Grenville Mayor Nancy Peckford says they are hoping to receive some funding to put towards the redevelopment.
“We also have an application in with the federal government for some significant support to offset those renovations, it will take some time to understand whether or not that money will be available to us.”
North Grenville is partnering with Cahdco, a specialized housing development corporation, to lead the project.
