OPP looking for feedback on how they provide services in our area

If you have feedback about police presence in the community, issues related to crime and community security, Ontario Provincial Police want to hear from you.

“Community Satisfaction Surveys” will start this week they say.

The survey will be sent to those 16 and older living in randomly selected households in our region.

Households will be mailed a ‘survey invitation letter’ that will provide a web address and unique code for completing the survey online.

There will also be a toll-free number provided for those who would rather complete the survey by telephone.

Those willing to participate in the survey will be asked about issues such as community security, perceptions of crime and youth issues in the community, OPP presence in the community, service delivery and how the OPP investigates crime and enforces the law.

The survey takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete and is strictly voluntary.

The information provided by those surveyed will be kept confidential and the names, telephone numbers, and addresses of those surveyed will not be included in the survey results provided to the OPP.

The survey is being collected by a research consultant, R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd.

The East Region detachment surveys will start this week and are expected to be completed by March 30.
