The Ontario Liberal candidate in our riding says rural Ontario has been consistently underserved and underserviced by the provincial government.
Lorna Jean Edmonds, who grew up in Ottawa and now lives in Hartington, says she entered into the election because she cares about the state of our healthcare, education, infrastructure, housing and affordability.
Edmonds is the former Vice Provost for Global Affairs and International Studies, as well as a health sciences professor, at Ohio University and she says that gives her additional insights on how to deal with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Edmonds says she’s the right candidate to lead Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes going forward.
“If you’re looking for honest and transparent leadership, somebody who not only will help mobilize your vision for your riding but can do it, that’s me.”
Edmonds says she’s heard at the door while campaigning that the top issues facing Ontarians are healthcare, affordability, education and housing.
Edmonds is being opposed by PC candidate Steve Clark, Green Party candidate Fiona Jager and NDP candidate Christopher Wilson.
Voters will head to the polls on Thursday, Feb. 27.
Moose FM will have extensive coverage of the election, and interviews with each of the candidates, during the campaign.
