Ontario is handing out $8,000 to help students and their families embrace active, safe, and sustainable travel for getting back and forth from school in North Grenville.
The money from the Ministry of Transportation is going to the “North Grenville Way Project” with the North Grenville Merrickville Wolford OPP Detachment Board also contributing $8,000.
The South East Health Unit says the initiative will involve collaboration with community and school partners to promote safe routes to school.
That includes designated walk-a-block locations, wayfinding signs, and providing pedestrian safety education for Grade 3 students across North Grenville schools.
