Ontario is putting close to $24 million towards helping to build new homes in the region.
The funding for the Town of Prescott, Augusta Township and the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal is coming from the second intake of the Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund.
Officials say the money is going to enable the development of much-needed new housing, helping to meet growing demand.
Prescott Mayor Gauri Shankar tells Moose FM that the news is a win for everyone.

“The main crux of it is it’s going to provide water and waste water for up to 29,000 homes in Augusta Township which is directly next to Prescott.”
Prescott, Augusta Township and the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal all partnered together on the application for the funding.
