Update: UCDSB officials provide more details on cyber attack

You’re still being asked to call your child’s school directly if they are a student with the local public board and they are going to be absent or late.

In an update to families on the cyber attack that has impacted the Upper Canada District School Board, officials say they are still without some services.

While the staff and student wireless internet is working, the websites that can be accessed are limited including no access to sites like Google.

Meanwhile, with students taking eLearning courses unable to access their courses, or connect with some teachers since the return of winter break, there will be no final exams or final projects for semester one students.

Final marks will be determined primarily on work submitted up until Dec. 20.

Report cards will also now go home on Thursday, Feb. 20 rather than Friday, Feb. 14.

Last week, UCDSB officials announced that some personal information had been stolen in the recent cyberattack.

The board says recovery efforts continue.
