Beth Donovan Hospice adding two new residential hospice beds

Two new residential hospice beds are on the way for the Beth Donovan Hospice in Kemptville.

Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark says they are part of provincial funding of up to $19.75 million to bring in 84 new adult hospice beds across the province.

That will bring the total number of publicly funded hospice beds in Ontario to 768.

Clark says “I’m overjoyed to make this announcement, which will ensure that families in the North Grenville area will have access to high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care for their loved ones in the community they call home.”

Once the 84 beds are in place, the province will provide an additional amount of up to $16 million per year to support operations.

As a next step, the ministry will be working with Beth Donovan Hospice to bring the new beds into operation.
