UCDSB says personal information stolen in recent cyberattack

Personal information was stolen in a recent cyberattack at our local public school board.

In an update, officials with the Upper Canada District School Board say those affected by the incident include current and former staff members, students and their parents or guardians, donors or other payors to the board office.

UCDSB officials say they have notified the majority of those affected and will continue to analyze the stolen data to determine if further notification is necessary.

They say the process may take time to complete and, while they believe the risk of publication and misuse of the exposed information to be low, they are providing credit monitoring for eligible groups.

More information on the impacts of the attack can be found on the UCDSB website.

The UCDSB has reported the incident to the Brockville Police and the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.
