You are being warned about a scam making the rounds.
East Region Ontario Provincial Police say it involves a text message being sent by the scammer claiming that they are from Service Canada.
Police say they are not and the President of the Public Service Commission definitely did not authorize the message.
The fraudsters appear to be targeting seniors as they claim to be looking into suspended Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security payments.
You are asked to make sure to reach out to any seniors or others who could be targeted with this scam.
