The Conservative MP for our region says nothing has changed with the announcement by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that he is resigning.
Michael Barrett says the move by Trudeau to step down as Liberal leader changes nothing because the rest of the party, and those who hope to succeed Trudeau, have all supported the same policies.
Barrett says those policies have seen an increase in violent crimes, caused food prices to skyrocket and caused many families to feel the devastation of the addiction crisis.
He adds that Trudeau’s legacy is one of high taxes and having our country embarrassed on the world stage.
“Catch and release bail and house arrest for the most rampant reoffenders, it saw gun crime go up by one-hundred-and-sixteen per cent, it is one that saw food banks have record usage with millions of visits each month.”
Barrett adds that this is a very challenging time for Canadians and he says nothing will change until we are allowed to cast a ballot in a federal election.
