Three former employees at hospitals in Ontario face charges following what police call “privacy breaches.”
The Ontario Provincial Police Anti-Rackets Branch – Health Fraud Investigation Unit says the charges come after investigations into allegations of inappropriate access of electronic medical records.
In three unrelated incidents, police say they became aware of complaints where employees had accessed personal health information of patients at the hospital.
The incidents took place in hospitals located in western, eastern and northern Ontario.
