An annual holiday tradition is scheduled to ride into the area in a few weeks.
The Canadian Pacific Kansas City Holiday Train will be returning to Merrickville on Thursday, Nov. 28, one of the communities across Canada and United States that it will be visiting.
The brightly lit train will be stopping at the East Broadway and County Road 2 tracks, feature free live entertainment, and collect donations for the Rideau Community Health Services Food Cupboard Program Merrickville site, the House of Lazarus in Mountain, and South Grenville Food Bank.
CPKC Spokesman Terry Cunha says the holiday train is all about helping those who need it the most.
“It’s extremely important for us to support our neighbors in these communities and as an organization that’s been operating for well over 100 years, this is just a great way to give back.”
The train is scheduled to stop in Merrickville from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
