It’s election eve south of the border.
Tuesday is Election Day in the United States with voters heading to the polls to cast their ballot for either Republican candidate Donald Trump or Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.
Ottawa-area native Colin Trethewey, who is now a U.S. resident and lives near Tampa in Florida, says the mood in his neighborhood is peaceful ahead of the election.
However, he adds that he isn’t talking politics with his friends because of the feelings that are involved.
He adds that he cast his ballot by mail, the same way he’s done it since he first voted in 2020.
“It’s very efficient, it’s a good easy way to do it, the mail in ballots are 100 % legitimate, they do the proper signature and other check’s involved.”
The 2024 United States presidential election is the 60th quadrennial U.S. presidential election.
