The community continues to come through to support a major new investment at the Kemptville District Hospital.
On Wednesday, volunteer members of the KDH Auxiliary presented a cheque for $160,000 to the hospital which will go towards new CT Scanner.
The funds represent the proceeds from the Auxiliary’s Hey Day events in 2023 and 2024, along with other fundraising efforts.
Andre Raincourt, President of the KDH Auxiliary, says the new piece of equipment will prove invaluable in attracting top medical professionals.
“When a doctor graduates he wants to go to a hospital that has the tools for him, if we have a CT Scanner then he’s likely to come here, versus I’ll go to another hospital because you guys don’t.”
The CT Scanner is anticipated to see its first patient in early 2025.
