Winchester District Memorial Hospital will be the scene of a mock emergency scene later this week.
Hospital officials say staff and Ontario Provincial Police will be taking part in the exercise on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
There will be increased police presence around the hospital and there’s no threat to public safety. The hospital will remain open during the mock exercise. All patient services and facilities are fully operational and regular visiting hours are in effect. You’re asked not to come to the hospital unless you are receiving medical care or visiting a patient.
Officials say mock emergency code scenarios are educational and rehearsed on a regular basis to ensure that staff and stakeholders are prepared for an emergency and can learn from mock exercise debriefs.
Patients and visitors in the hospital will be notified before and after the exercise takes place.
