May 1st is First Responders’ Day. First responders are those men and women who, in the early stages of an emergency, are responsible for the protection and preservation of life, property, evidence and the environment. First responders are volunteers and professionals whose life-saving skills often make the difference between life and death. Their public service will be recognized and honoured across Ontario Thursday. In North Grenville, we salute our police officers, paramedics, emergency response personnel and volunteer firefighters.
