Evonik Canada is investing over $8.9 million to create five new jobs and retain 29 other positions in the region.
The company describes itself as one of the world leaders in specialty chemicals.
The investment includes the purchase of new equipment to manufacture new grades of chemicals, allowing the company to expand their operations at its Maitland plant.
In support of the investment, Ontario is providing the company with $1.24 million in funding through the Regional Development Program’s Eastern Ontario Development Fund for their project.Â
