That reminder from East Region Ontario Provincial Police who say detachments across the area have received multiple reports of vehicles failing to stop, particularly ones heading in the opposite direction of buses.
Police say not only is this illegal, but it can also have deadly consequences.
Driver’s need to keep their eyes off their phone and on the road ahead.
They also need to watch for buses and be prepared for them to make frequent stops.
Yellow flashing lights, police say, are a warning that a stop is about to happen which is your cue to slow down and get ready to stop a safe distance from the bus.
