The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority is keeping a close eye on flood waters, providing the following update. Water levels are rising in the Long Reach of the Rideau River as runoff continues to enter the system. The Manotick and Long Island Dams are opened sufficiently to pass all of the incoming flows without affecting upstream water levels. The private roadway to the community of Hilly Lane (in North Grenville) is now submerged and access to other small communities in the area including Cedar Beach, Rideau Glen and Becketts Landing can expect to be obstructed through the next two days. Residents might consider alternative accommodations.
