An area along Highway 401 near Prescott has reopened after police discovered a stolen vehicle and arrested a driver.
Grenville County OPP tells the Moose FM Newsroom that a stolen jeep was located by Leeds County OPP in their area.
They say the jeep then entered into the Prescott area resulting in the suspect ditching the vehicle and fleeing on foot into the town’s commercial area.
The 19-year-old suspect from Montreal was eventually located by the police canine unit and arrested.
They have been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, dangerous driving and other offences.

You’re asked to avoid the area between Highway 401 and Prescott Centre Drive in Prescott.
Grenville County OPP say they are currently in that area for a search.
Police say there is no immediate concern for public safety and area businesses and schools have been notified.
