Ottawa realtor charged with attempted murder of wife

A well-known Ottawa realtor is making his second video appearance in court this afternoon after being charged with the attempted murder of his wife. Police were called to the Orleans home of Chris Hoare by paramedics after a neighbour called 9-1-1 about an injured woman lying in the driveway in her pajamas. The neighbour said Hoare was standing near his wife and she was pleading for help from witnesses. The woman was rushed to hospital, where she is recovering. Police found a baseball bat, believed to be the assault weapon, in the garage. The 44-year-old accused was a popular real estate spokesperson on Ottawa talk radio and a past president of the Ottawa Real Estate Board. Neighbours say the family was often seen walking with their five children and there were no previous known incidents of violence at the home.
