A special weather statement is in effect for our area as we get hit with a late season snowstorm. Environment Canada says Kemptville can expect five centimetres of snow and ice pellets today, while there is also the risk of freezing rain. Other areas are forecast to get 10 to 15 centimetres, especially near the St. Lawrence River. Motorists are advised that poor winter driving conditions are likely, due to low visibility and accumulating snow. Environment Canada adds weather warnings may be required or extended before the storm is over.
