Kemptville 73’s excited about makeup of 2024-25 regular season schedule

It may be the end of July but things are already starting to pick up for the Kemptville 73s Hockey Club.

The Central Canada Hockey League recently announced its 2024-25 regular season schedule which starts in Cornwall on September 14-15 with the league’s Showcase Weekend.

Kemptville will play Pembroke and Rockland over the two days and 73’s Head Coach and Owner Shawn Fensel says the weekend, which sees every team in the league play two games, is a good way to get everyone together in the same place to kick things off.

Fensel points to other highlights of the fifty-game schedule including more Friday night home games as a better makeup than past seasons.

He says he also keeps an eye on back to back games and longer road trips.

“You can only plan so much until you’re right into the season in terms of how you’re going to approach that but there are definitely highlights that we look for throughout the year.”

Training camp will be held by the team in late August followed by preseason games before the regular season gets underway.
