Update: Investigation into fatal motorcycle crash along County Road 29 continues

The Office of the Chief Coroner is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash along County Road 29.

Leeds County Ontario Provincial Police says they received reports of a motorcycle in the west ditch on County Road 29, between the intersections of Kitley Line 6 and Kinch Street, shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday.

Police say no witnesses have come forward so far and the time and cause of the collision is still under investigation.

The motorcycle was cold to the touch when officers arrived on scene, according to police, and the rider appeared to have been going southbound when it happened.

Lifesaving measures were taken immediately, however the operator of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

He has been identified as a 37-year-old man from the Lombardy area.

The Office of Forensic Pathology has also begun an investigation into the cause of death of the driver.

One person is dead after a motorcycle collision along County Road 29.

Leeds County OPP say a 37-year-old man was pronounced dead after being found in the ditch south of Smiths Falls.

They say the discovery was made around 5:30 a.m. Sunday.

It’s not known when the collision happened.

The OPP Technical Collision Investigation Team is assisting with the investigation.
