Mayor Nancy Peckford says she’s happy to see North Grenville’s Francophone population growing.
March 20th is International Day of La Francophonie, a celebration of the French language observed in more than 80 countries all over the world.
“We are very proud of the work the local French schools do to promote French language and culture in our community,” says Councillor Kristen Strackerjan. “These contributions, among many others, make North Grenville stronger and more vibrant.”
The celebration was first recognized in 1988. Municipal staff say they wish everyone in North Grenville a happy International Day of La Francophonie.
