Jock River Habitat Embayment Project takes Top Canadian Fishing Industry Conservation Project Award

The Jock River Habitat Embayment Project was just awarded the Top Canadian Fishing Industry Conservation Project Award for 2014. The project which is part of the Richmond Conservation Area is 1,000 square meters of new spawning, nursery, rearing and feeding habitat. It’s a joint project between the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority, the Ottawa Chapter of Muskies Canada, National Defense Headquarters Fish and Game Club and the Ottawa Flyfishers Society. It took 9 days of construction in October of last year and 294 volunteer hours were invested into the project.
