Municipal Centre now offering shinny hockey

If you want to play some pick-up hockey and the Riverside Park outdoor rink isn’t available, you’ve got a new venue to use.

Mayor Nancy Peckford has announced that shinny hockey is now available four days per week at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.

The casual, drop-in program was launched after municipal council saw “overwhelming interest” in it at the RIverside Park rink, Peckford says.

It’s available Tuesdays and Thursdays for all ages, and during weekends with players divided into age brackets.

Taking part costs $5, and anyone younger than 10 years old needs full hockey equipment.

The first session is scheduled for January 18th.
