If North Grenville’s “NGTransit” is successful once it launches next week, it could eventually expand outside our municipality.
At the ribbon cutting ceremony for the ‘soft launch’ of the on-demand service earlier this week, Peckford said it needs to be used by residents for it to be successful.
“The more it is utilized, our hope is, as a council and a municipality, the more we can grow the service,” she said. “At this point, the service is just municipal-wide, it doesn’t take you out of municipal boundaries, but with time, depending on how this service grows, those are things that could be contemplated for the future.”
Those expansions could see an integration with the “River Route” program that runs in South Grenville. Mayor Peckford has expressed interest in adding North Grenville to the River Route in the past.
NGTransit launches on Monday, January 15th.
