The Kemptville District Hospital (KDH) is one step closer to buying a CT scanner.
The hospital’s fundraising arm, the KDH Foundation, received a donation on Wednesday from the North Grenville Chamber of Commerce, after the chamber raised money at its annual Little Black Dress event.
The event was a dinner party held at the Equinelle Golf Club, with ticket sales going towards the CT scanner initiative. Chamber Executive Director Terri-Lynn McEvoy says it raised $7,000 in total.
Kristy Carriere, the hospital’s Foundation Coordinator, says it’s amazing to see the community support the campaign to bring a CT scanner to the hospital.
However, she says there’s still more money to be raised.
“We’re just at about $800,000 now,” Carriere says, “and we need to raise $2.2 million. So, we’re getting there.”
According to Carriere, the KDH Foundation has no more fundraising plans for this year and intends to start running events again in the spring of 2024.
