CPKC Holiday Train comes to Merrickville November 27th

Three local food banks will benefit from an upcoming fundraising concert.

The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Holiday Train begins its annual tour on November 20th this year, including a stop in Merrickville.

The concert will be free to attend, but cash and non-perishable food donations will be collected. Everything that’s donated will be split between Merrickville’s Emergency Food Cupboard, the House of Lazarus food banks in Ingleside and Mountain, and the South Grenville Food Bank.

The train visits communities in both Canada and the United States, hosting holiday-themed live concerts raising money and awareness for food banks. The concerts have raised more than $22-million and collected more than five million pounds of food since the tour’s inception in 1999.

The Merrickville show is happening on Monday, November 27th.
