An on-demand public transit system is coming to North Grenville early next year, and you have a chance to help decide its name.
According to an announcement from the Municipality, the service is set to launch in January 2024.
It’ll be available seven days a week, and staff say there will be a variety of ways to book rides, including a phone app, website, and by making a phone call.
The system will be an expansion of North Grenville’s current “accessible transit service” for seniors and people with disabilities. Accessibility options will still be available for people who need them.
According to the announcement, most of the funding for this new program will come from the provincial gas tax. Pricing rates to use the system haven’t been announced yet, but staff say more information will be revealed in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, the municipality is holding a public vote to decide the name for the system. You can view the name options and cast your vote online by visiting the Municipality’s website.
