A volunteer with Kemptville’s Scouts Canada branch says he’s organizing a charity stand-up comedy show later this month to help send medical supplies to Ukraine.
Alan McKay says the “Stand Up for Ukraine” event is scheduled for next Friday, Oct. 13, at the Royal Canadian Legion building in Kemptville.
He says the show will feature five comedians from in and around the Ottawa area.
“They’re not the top brand people you see on national TV, or whatever, but I’ve looked at their gigs on YouTube and I laughed my head off for most of it,” McKay explains. “I think it’s going to be a really, really fun night.”
All the ticket sales are going towards medical supplies for Ukraine. McKay is warning residents that there will be some foul language and alcohol will be available at the Legion, so you might not want to bring your kids.
The show is scheduled from 8:00 to 9:30 PM.
