MPP Lisa MacLeod pulls out of Ontario PC Leadership Race

And then there were three. Nepean-Carleton MPP Lisa MacLeod is the latest to withdraw from the Ontario PC Leadership Race. In an announcement at 11:00 February 6th, MacLeod said she hasn’t decided if she will leave provincial politics to run for John Baird’s federal seat in the House of Commons. MacLeod joins Vic Fedeli, who left the PC Leadership race on Wednesday, in throwing support behind Jim Flaherty’s widow, Whitby-Ajax MPP Christine Elliott. Barrie MP Patrick Brown and Lambton MPP Monte McNaughton are also still in the race to run the Ontario PC party. The new leader will be chosen May 9th.
