Dozens of local high school students won big at the Eastern Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association’s (EOSSAA) Track and Field Championship this year.
The track meet, which happened on May 25th and 26th, saw 56 gold medals awarded to students from Upper Canada District School Board schools.
Thousand Islands Secondary School took home the most points total at the event, beating out 62 other competing schools for both the boys’ and girls’ overall team title.
Every student who placed in the top six in an event has been invited to the East Regionals Track and Field Championships in Ottawa on June 1st and 2nd.
Placing well there will earn them a spot at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations’ (OFSAA) Championship, which starts June 8th.
