CBSA issues international travel tips ahead of long weekend

Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) staff members say you should check wait times at the border before traveling to the United States for Victoria Day.

CBSA has issued some advice for travelers ahead of the long weekend, urging them to plan so their trips are as smooth as possible.

If you’re taking a plane, staff say you might be eligible for “advance declaration,” helping speed up the customs process. It’s available at Ottawa International Airport.

They’re also urging travelers to look up their exemption limits, avoid trying to travel with cannabis, and be prepared to declare any goods you’re bringing with you or show receipts from anything you bought on your way back.

You can view more advice from CBSA on the federal government’s website.
