After raising more than $23,000 for the Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH) last year, the team behind Charlee’s Run has announced a new event for this spring.
The organizers of the fundraiser, bringing in money for WDMH’s Family Birthing Unit, say this year’s event is called “Charlee’s Hero Workout of the Day.”
Participants will take part in an hour of exercise at CrossFit Kemptville, with workouts set to run hourly between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM on May 13th.
Registration costs $20, with all the proceeds going towards WDMH and local vendors also set to be on site.
Organizer Mallory Holmes says the initiative, like Charlee’s Run, is meant to raise money and awareness for pregnancy and infant loss.
“After losing our daughter Charlee, we never wanted another family to feel alone,” Holmes says. “If our story could reach even one family in need then it was worth it.”
You can find registration details on the Charlee’s Run Facebook page.
