Sweetheart Brunch chair talks results of 2023 event

Jean LeClair says this year’s North Grenville “Sweetheart Brunch” couldn’t have had better weather, and that it went fantastically.

“We had a great turnout, our numbers were very close to the last time we did it back in 2020, we fed close to 1,000 people once again, so, great turnout, great sponsors, volunteers were all out, people were very, very happy,” says LeClair, the chair of the Knights of Columbus team that organized the event. “It was an absolutely wonderful event, we’re so proud to host it and it was a great time.”

$9,000 was raised at the brunch, held at the North Grenville Municipal Centre earlier in February. The money was split between a number of local charities and initiatives, like Beth Donovan Hospice, Leeds and Grenville Interval House, and the Ryan’s Well Foundation.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the sponsors and the community,” LeClair says. “Their generosity is overwhelming, and this year, once again, they were fantastic, and we really, really appreciate all the support we get in the community.”

LeClair says the organization is also preparing for a golf tournament fundraiser in the fall. More details for that will be posted to the local Knights of Columbus branch’s social media pages over the coming months.
