WDMH has new operating equipment, thanks to Auxiliary

The Winchester District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has made a big investment that will improve health care services close to home.

The hospital has announced it has new equipment in its operating room, thanks to dollars brought in through the work of the auxiliary members.

The new features include gynecological equipment, high-definition camera cords and a colonoscope.

The value of all the equipment is nearly $70,000.

Auxiliary Co-Chair Elinor Jordon says the provincial government does not fund hospital equipment, so members wanted to raise the funds so better care can be provided “close to home.”

Winchester District Memorial Hospital says it welcomes comments about how hospital services can be improved. People can contact President Cholly Boland to provide suggestions.
