Health Unit announces schedule for School Immunization Program “catch-up” clinics

Local teenagers will be able to get vaccinated against diseases like Hepatitis B and HPV later this month.

The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit has outlined the schedule for this year’s “catch-up” vaccine clinics at high schools across the region.

The clinics are run as part of the organization’s School Immunization Program, helping keep local kids healthy by making sure their shots are up to date.

Staff members say that students whose vaccination schedule was disrupted because of the COVID-19 pandemic will be able to get up to date, even if it’s been multiple years since they were last on schedule.

If your child recently recovered from COVID-19, they also say they should wait at least 10 days before getting vaccinated against anything else.

North Grenville District High School will be hosting a clinic for students on February 23rd. You can find more information on the program on the Health Unit website.
