Students have an opportunity to earn some volunteer hours while learning how to manage their finances.
The Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau is hosting two “Youth Financial Literacy” workshops for people ages 14 to 21 years old.
Like a similar series of seminars hosted by the organization in the spring, the workshops will teach participants about things like managing debt, budgeting, and building their credit.
Any high school students who complete both workshops will receive 10 volunteer hours they can put towards their diploma, plus have their name entered in a draw for a gift card.
The workshops are being hosted on December 5th and 6th, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. You can find details for how to register on the Volunteer Centre’s Facebook page.
