“Parade of Lights” festival returns to North Dundas this weekend

North Dundas’ annual Christmas celebration is returning to normal, after three years of altered showings because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The “Parade of Lights” will be returning to Winchester on Saturday, December 3rd.

The festival will feature a parade of more than 40 floats, including an appearance from Santa Claus, as well as a vendor fair at the Joel Steel Community Centre in the upper level of the Sam Ault Arena in Winchester.

Donations to the Community Food Share food bank are being collected along the three-kilometre parade route, which begins at the North Dundas municipal building and is expected to take an hour and a half to complete.

Last year, the organizers of the annual event held a stationary parade called the “Display of Lights” at the South Mountain Fairgrounds, due to public health restrictions put in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the region.

If you’re interested in attending this year’s Parade of Lights, it’s scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM on the 3rd.
