North Grenville Police Services Board: don’t drive impaired this holiday season

With the New Year around the corner, the Municipality of North Grenville is urging residents to be responsible at any holiday parties.

The Municipality’s Police Services Board, which oversees the local OPP detachment, has issued a statement urging residents not to drive impaired over the holidays.

“No amount of alcohol or drugs is safe when driving,” says Mayor Nancy Peckford. “As you make plans for the holidays and year-round, please remember to plan ahead to ensure you arrive home safely, and encourage others to do the same.”

“Let’s all do our part to keep our roads safe, and prevent tragic deaths and injuries caused by impaired driving,” adds John Barclay, a member of North Grenville’s council and the Chair of the Police Services Board.

If you suspect you see an impaired driver on the road, municipal staff members say you should call 9-1-1 to report them to the OPP.
