UCDSB welcomes new and returning school board trustees

With the municipal election results counted across the Upper Canada District School Board’s (UCDSB) jurisdiction, Ron Ferguson is congratulating his colleagues.

“It is admirable to see everyday citizens put their name forth to serve the communities in which they reside, in the name of public education and advocacy for students and families,” says Ferguson, the UCDSB’s Director of Education. “I’m looking forward to working with the new board when they take office.”

According to UCDSB Manager of Communications April Scott-Clarke, six incumbent trustees will be holding their positions on the board going into the next term of office, joined by four new faces.

Locally, Lisa Swan will serve her third term as the trustee for Ward 6, which covers North Grenville, Edwardsburgh-Cardinal and Prescott, after being re-elected.

The new Board of Trustees will be sworn in on November 16th during the first meeting of their term, and will stay in office until 2026. The last meeting for the current board will be held on November 9th.
