Women in the Leeds-Grenville area interested in volunteer firefighting will have an opportunity to learn more about the job later this fall.
The Edwardsburgh-Cardinal Firefighters Association is hosting a “Female Firefighter Bootcamp” to introduce women ages 17 and older to what volunteer firefighting entails.
According to the organization’s social media pages, the one-day event will “provide participants with firsthand knowledge of the duties of a volunteer firefighter while developing emergency preparedness skills.”
People who live outside the township are being invited to take part, but if you do, you’ll need to bring your own safety boots.
