Fire crews are warning the public after two incidents of frozen pipes led to residential fires in the Jasper area over the past week. In both cases, owners were using alternate sources of heat in an attempt to thaw out their frozen pipes. In one case the owner had left the heat source on under the cottage while he was away from the building. That cottage was completely destroyed. In the second case a small bungalow was also ruined but the man and his two dogs managed to escape unharmed.
